The Glenrock Area Solid Waste Disposal District (GASWDD) was formed in 2004 as part of the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality’s regionalization plan. Operating under this plan, the GASWDD Board oversees the management of trash disposal in the CCSD#2 area. This includes curbside municipal solid waste and homeowner-scale construction and demolition materials, which are transferred to the Casper Regional Landfill through a buy-in agreement.
In addition to waste disposal, the GASWDD also manages recycling programs for metals, tires, used oil, and household hazardous waste. Grass clippings, shrubs, and tree trimmings are ground up for various uses as part of our green initiatives.
The Board also oversees the final cap and closure of existing landfill cells and ensures the ongoing monitoring and mitigation of the facility for years to come. The District is supported by a dedicated team of seven employees who operate the facility six days a week, working to keep our community clean and sustainable.
Our mission is to ensure that Glenrock stays clean and beautiful for future generations through eco-friendly practices and community involvement.
To maintain a clean and healthy environment for the residents and businesses of Glenrock and surrounding areas, through efficient waste management, recycling, and green initiatives that contribute to environmental sustainability.
